Payroll Record Retention

How long should I keep employment records?

The Department of Labor lays out recommendations for employment record retention.  They indicate that employment records (payroll records, contracts, etc.) should be retained for 3 years.  Wage computations (time cards, etc.) should be retained for 2 years.
